We had a busy and fruitful first quarter this year! The start of the first quarter was mainly focused on mill commissioning, followed by our participation in the Indo Intertex 2019 and the collaboration with fashion designers under the Indonesia Fashion Chamber (IFC) to promote viscose-rayon and sustainable fashion. We concluded the first quarter with our commercial debut at the APR inaugural Gala Dinner, a get-together event where we hosted our stakeholders for an evening of food and fun. In the midst of it all, our focus towards sustainability remains unchanged. We launched our traceability platform (Follow Our Fibre) which uses blockchain to ensure sustainable sourcing throughout our viscose supply chain. Here are the highlights of our first quarter:
APR at Indo Intertex 2019: Featuring Viscose World Partners
We made our first debut at Indo Intertex 2019 within a broader collaboration featuring Viscose World Exhibition. Together with Duniatex, Argo Pantes, Dhanar Mas Group and PT. Multi Sandang Tamajaya, we represent the integration of our value chain. Besides the booth, we also sponsored a few activities including fashion shows, Indo project Runway fashion design competition and spoke at a sustainability seminar organised by Indonesian Textile Association (API).
APR Organises Inaugural Gala Dinner
“This is a positive development for Indonesia’s domestic textile sector,” said Minister of Industry Airlangga Hartarto when describing the entry of Asia Pacific Rayon (APR) in the textile industry. The minister delivered the key-note at the APR Gala Dinner themed “Revitalising Indonesia’s Textile Industry: Plantation to Fashion”.
Follow Our Fibre: Launch of APR’s Traceability and Tracking Platform
We have embarked on our traceability journey with Follow-Our –Fibre initiative at www.followourfibre.com. Powered by blockchain technology, this initiative aims to provide our customers and their customers with a supply chain traceability tool from product, all the way back to the source.
