At Jakarta Fashion Week, Asia Pacific Rayon (APR) is teaming up with five local labels under the slogan “I Love Viscose” to promote sustainable fashion. The event took place at The City Hall in Pondok Indah Mall 3, DKI Jakarta, Indonesia.

Closing up Jakarta Fashion Week (JFW) with designs created from biodegradable viscose rayon fabric were APR’s collaborations with BT Batik Trusmi, everyday, Frederika, Geulis & Kasep, and Olin Workrobe. There was a wide selection of styles, from modern batik to stylish and edgy everyday wear.

“APR’s participation in Jakarta Fashion Week 2023 is in line with our mission to promote the textile industry and sustainable fashion while raising public awareness of these issues in Indonesia. In an effort to promote more Indonesian fashion designers, we have also promised deliver ‘Everything Indonesia.’” The APR’s Head of Marketing Communication, Zoey Rasjid said.

APR launched the ‘Everything Indonesia’ campaign to promote the sourcing and manufacture of fashion in Indonesia. The goal is to aid Indonesia’s comeback as a worldwide textile manufacturing hub, beginning with viscose rayon as a catalyst for domestic fashion design and innovation.

Oline Workrobe utilised APR rayon in a colour palette of black, white, grey, and cream. One of the brand’s distinguishing features is the utilisation of leftover fabric in the collection.

Concurrently, FREDRIKA unveiled a new collection called “SWEET PLANTATION,” which was influenced by APR’s acacia plantation in Riau that is managed by APRIL Group. The design reflects the fashion industry’s aspiration for a greener tomorrow. In addition, FREDERIKA uses the batik stamp process to design one-of-a-kind fabric for its high-end ready-to-wear line.

Meanwhile, BT Batik Trusmi used viscose rayon for designs inspired by the Ong Tien symbol, which is said to represent fortune, wisdom, and immortality. BT Batik Trusmi also incorporates the Sunan Gunung Jati’s pattern, which is based on the jewellery found in the saint’s cemetery complex in Cirebon, West Java. The pattern is a mixture between flowers and Chinese ceramics style and the Mega Mendung batik of Cirebon.

Furthermore, “Shape & Form,” the new collection from everyday, takes a simple and practical approach, elevating everyday basics with viscose.

Geulis debuted their new Spring/Summer 2023 collection, titled “Bloom Refresher.” Geulis delivers a contemporary take on the layered silhouette with this collection, characterised by vibrant colors such as yellow, lilac, peach and lime green that are shown beautifully with lyocell sourced from APR. Geulis also unveiled three new looks for their latest menswear line, KASEP. The collection aims to strike a balance between the modern and the classic.

APR, a Riau-based viscose-rayon producer, is committed to supporting and promoting the local fashion industry and sustainable fashion.
