Attaining EU-BAT standards reinforces APR’s position alongside global leaders in sustainable manufacturing, achieving a higher standard for excellence in the fashion and textile sector
In October 2024, Asia Pacific Rayon (APR) achieved compliance with the European Union Best Available Techniques (EU-BAT), a leading environmental standard that requires industries to adopt the most effective technologies for minimising pollution and environmental impact.
“This milestone reflects APR’s ongoing efforts to implement responsible practices and reinforce our commitment to sustainability. With this recognition, we are excited to expand our partnerships with organisations in leading markets that share our values,” said Saleel Rajaram Nayak, APR Operations Manager.
The evaluation process began on 22nd & 23rd Oct 2024 and was independently conducted by Sustainable Textile Solutions, a division of BluWin Limited (UK), an established expert in environmental assessments for the textile industry.
The assessment confirmed APR meets the Best Available Techniques Associated Emission Levels (BAT-AEL) in the areas of material usage, energy efficiency, water management, wastewater treatment, and air emissions. This includes meeting standards for substances like zinc, sulphate, and organic matter breakdown, along with solid waste management and noise control.
APR’s compliance with EU-BAT standards is a testament to our progress towards our APR2030 vision, driven by continuous improvement and long-term sustainability.
