JAKARTA, October 24, 2024 –Asia Pacific Rayon (APR) reinforced its commitment to supporting sustainable fashion in Indonesia by collaborating with Duniatex and Matahari at Jakarta Fashion Week (JFW) 2025. Under the theme “Fashion Evolution,” the collaboration showcased 48 collections in a fashion show on the second day of JFW held in Jakarta,
In this collaboration, APR supplies renewable and biodegradable viscose-rayon fibers, which are processed by Duniatex into high-quality fabrics. Matahari thencreatively transforms these fabrics into chic and contemporary collections through its retail brands, Nevada and ZES.
“APR’s participation in the two-day Jakarta Fashion Week is a tangible step towards supporting the growth of sustainable fashion in Indonesia. We believe that cross-sector collaboration can expand positive impacts and raise public awareness about the importance of sustainable materials,” said APR President Director, Mr Basrie Kamba.
Matahari Department Store showcased collections targeted for youth, emphasizing sustainability while maintaining a sophisticated,edgy appeal aligned withcurrent trends. The Nevada collection embraces the concept of “Confident Teen Spirit,” encouraging individuals to embrace their uniqueness with confidence.uniqueness. It hihglights the use of viscose through vibrant colours, combined withvarsity, denim and grunge elements. Meanwhile, the ZES collection embodies the concept of “Stress-free Commute” through itselegant contemporary style, crafted from soft and breathable viscose-rayon to provide all-day comfort perfect for the daily wear of urban dwellers.
Since 2019, APR has been committed to collaborating with designers, fashion enthusiasts, and textile industry players to support sustainable fashion in Indonesia. This year marksAPR’s third participation in JFW, the largest fashion exhibition in Southeast Asia, collaborating This collaboration within the textile ecosystem aimsto further advance the movement for sustainable fashion in Indonesia.
Previously, APR partnered with Matahari to support sustainable fashion by showcasing apparels made from APR’s viscose-rayon and implementing a Textile Waste Management program. The collaboration at JFW2025 continues to highlight strong synergy between APR and Matahari in promoting sustainable fashion.
