We will implement science-based solutions to reduce our product carbon footprint per tonne of viscose staple fibre from our operations by 50% and by sourcing 100% of our mill’s energy from renewable and clean energy sources. Our commitments include reduction in chemical and mill-wide electrical energy consumption.
Working alongside supply chain partner APRIL’s 2030 target of net zero emissions from land use, we will contribute towards a nature and biodiversity conservation and wildlife habitat protection in Indonesia.
We will champion clean and closed-loop production, supporting Indonesia’s textile industry shift to a low carbon economy. In our operations, we are committed to reduce waste-to-landfill by 80% through investments in closed-loop production and recycling, and by achieving a greater than 95% sulphur recovery rate by 2030.
Additional reductions plans in water use, minimizing waste-to-landfill per product tonne, and investing in solutions to improve process efficiency and recovery systems.
We will accelerate innovation in textile recycling, utilising 20% waste composition in our viscose production. Through collaboration with supply chain partners and innovators, we aim to scale new circular approaches, and advance the collection, sorting and recycling of textile waste.
Through a series of community livelihoods initiatives, we are supporting inclusive prosperity in marginalized communities. These initiatives will deliver sustained livelihoods, support gender empowerment and provide communities with improved access to basic health services.
APR is helping to revitalize Indonesia’s traditional textile craftsmanship, providing Riau’s women and youth with access to new skills, professional development opportunities and improved income and wellbeing.
