Celebrating Resilience and Sustainability: APR x Kala Studio's Empowering Collaboration | Asia Pacific Rayon Skip to main content

Introduction:

Asia Pacific Rayon (APR) and Kala Studio have partnered to produce a capsule collection using biodegradable viscose rayon that pays homage to the resilience and strength of Indonesian women.

Kala Studio was founded in 2018 by Vina Ameilya, Adinda Tri Wardhani, and Karina Mahendra, who share a dedication to promoting home-grown talent and eco-friendly fashion techniques.

The local fashion label has quickly made a name for itself with its distinctive style.

The capsule collection titled Philo Garden aims to demonstrate the versatility of APR’s viscose rayon, and encourage the use of textiles proudly made here in Indonesia.

The collection:

The collection draws inspiration from the Philodendron flower pattern, symbolising growth, beauty, and strength. Using high-quality viscose rayon sourced from APR’s sustainable plantations reinforces the brand’s commitment to eco-consciousness.

The collection comprises in three distinctive patterns, each with its unique narrative and symbolism:

  1. “Garden of Growth”: This design combines green and pink hues to represent growth, femininity, and the warm-heartedness of Indonesian women. This also represents women’s ability to form bonds within their neighbourhoods and understand the significance of collaboration in promoting development.

2. “Bold Blooms”: The vibrant blend of purple, blue, pink, and green in this pattern exudes a bold and eye-catching appeal.

3. “Shining Resilience”: This design showcases a striking purple hue with vibrant accents of green, yellow, orange, and blue, symbolizing confidence, individuality, and a commitment to sustainable fashion.
