Barcelona, 20 June 2019 – Indonesia-based Asia Pacific Rayon (APR) will showcase its sustainable viscose rayon production for the first time at this year’s International Textile Machinery Association (ITMA) event in Barcelona.

Following its commercial launch in March 2019, APR has commenced exporting viscose staple fibre to key textile manufacturing hubs in Europe including Turkey and Germany.

“ITMA 2019 is an opportunity to actively seek out new business partners including collaboration with machinery suppliers to develop fibres that are best suited to our customers’ requirements,” said Ben Poon, Deputy Business Head of APR.

APR has obtained PEFC Chain-of-Custody and OEKO-TEX® certification for standard 100, confirming its viscose is free from harmful substances. “Achieving these certifications is important to demonstrate that our products meet industry standards to safeguard environment and social requirements,” add Ben Poon.

In May, APR launched ‘Follow Our Fibre’ a traceability platform powered by block-chain provides traceability and transparency over its viscose-rayon production value chain from seed to fibre.
